Escle Claiborne was born on 21 February 1917 at Flat Hollow, Campbell County, Tennessee. He was the son of Canada Hodge Claiborne and Ida S. Bartley. Escle Claiborne married Nina Russell circa 1936. Escle Claiborne died on 13 April 1985 at Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, at age 68 years, 1 month and 23 days. He was buried in the Sunset Cemetery, located in Clinton, Anderson County, Tennessee.
