John Von Roth

     John Von Roth was born on 18 December 1820 at Germany.1 He married, at age 23, Sarah Ann Miller, age 17, daughter of Jacob Frederick Miller and Susannah Updegraff, on Sunday, 14 July 1844 by the Reverend P. Lantz.2 John Von Roth died on 25 January 1864 at age 43 years, 1 month and 7 days.1
     John's surname has also been spelled as Rhote. This family is listed as 'Family Q7' on the Blooming Grove, Stammbaum Wäldchen (Family Tree Little Woods) that was originally printed about 1860 - 1862. The one used for this record is currently in the possession of Frederick and Zella Stabler. The Blooming Grove Historical Socitey also has one on display at their musuem. The beginning reads, "With approximately 20 family trees of families who largely live in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania and who still have living parents at the turn of the century, mostly from Mühringen and Eßlingen in Würtemberg, and who have moved here." John's surname has also been spelled as Roat. As of 1850, John's surname has also been spelled as Rote. He and Sarah Ann Miller appeared on the census of 30 July 1850 at Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. John Von Roth and Sarah Ann Miller appeared on the census of 4 September 1860 at Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
