Gloria J. Dodds was born on 20 March 1934 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Robert L. Dodds and Lena M. Ammeter.1 Gloria J. Dodds married, at age 18, James Lamont Pryor, son of Elmer Rantz Pryor and Erma Alberta Sholder, on Friday, 19 September 1952 at Calvary Baptist Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Gloria J. Dodds died on 26 April 2012 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 78 years, 1 month and 6 days.1 She was buried on 1 May 2012 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Jerry Fourroux.1
Gloria J. Dodds was a telephone operator with AT&T between 1958 and 1991.1 Her obituary was published on 28 April 2012 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Gloria J. Pryor, 78, of Cogan Station, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 20, 1934, in Williamsport, the daughter of Robert L. and Lena M. (Ammeter) Dodds.
Gloria was the wife of James L. Pryor with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
She was a member of the Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church.
Gloria retired in 1991 after 33 years with AT&T as a telephone operator.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America for over 20 years.
Baseball was Gloria's life, her favorite baseball team being the New York Mets.
She loved to paint, work in her flower garden and spend time with her family.
Surviving besides her husband James, are a son, Rantz L. Pryor Sr. of Williamsport; four grandchildren, James O. Pryor, Rantz L. Pryor Jr., Lena N. Pryor, Abra C. Pryor; five great-grandchildren, Sierra M. Pryor, Seanna M. Pryor, Kamryn E. Pryor, Clara D. McKenzie and Griffin R. Pryor.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert L. Dodd and a sister, Marceline Zellers.
Family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 310, Cogan Station, PA 17728.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gloria's Life Celebration beginning with a visitation Monday, April 30, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 1, 2012, from 10 until 11 a.m. at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Fourroux Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
