Hazel E. Wise1

     Hazel E. Wise was born on 23 July 1906.1 She married Jacob Harold Bastian, son of Charles B. Bastian and Emma Jane Schuch, circa 1924.1 Hazel E. Wise died on 25 June 2003 at age 96 years, 11 months and 2 days.1
     Her obituary was published on 29 June 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Hazel E. Bastian, 96, of Cogan Station RR2, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Sycamore Manor following a brief illness. Her husband, Jacob Harold Bastian, died Nov. 26, 1980.

     Hazel was a homemaker and attended the First Lutheran Church in Mifflinburg. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, and she enjoyed listening to classical music and reading poetry.

     Born July 23, 1906, in Cogan House Twp., she was a daughter of Truman L. and Jennie E. Griswold Wise.

     Surviving are a son, David C. of Grand Rapids, Mich; daughters Diana Getz of Mifflinburg and Sandra E. Losieniecki of city; sister Helen Campbell of Marietta, N.Y; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A daughter, Dolores Millard, preceded her in death in 1992. Nine brothers and sisters also predeceased her.

     A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, in Salladasburg Cemetery, Salladasburg RR2, with the Rev. Douglas Beaver, church pastor, officiating. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Knight-Confer Funeral Home.1
