Robert Elwood Pryor was born on 23 March 1927 at Duboistown, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Elmer Rantz Pryor and Erma Alberta Sholder.2 Robert Elwood Pryor was baptized, at age 14 years and 21 days, on Sunday, 13 April 1941 at Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Bottle Run, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He married, at age 19, Mildred Virginia Snook, age 18, daughter of John Wesley Snook and Edna Bitting, on Saturday, 2 November 1946 at Episcopal Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Robert Elwood Pryor died on 6 January 1997 at University Hospital, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, at age 69 years, 9 months and 14 days.1,2
He appeared on the census of 3 May 1940 in the household of Elmer Rantz Pryor and Erma Alberta Sholder at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Robert Elwood Pryor was journeyman and brick mason between 1950 and 1990. His obituary was published sometime in January 1997 His obituary stated:
Robert E. Pryor, 69, of Augusta, GA., a Lycoming County native, died Monday, January 6, 1997, in University Hospital, Augusta, after a lengthy illness.
He and his wife, the former M. Virginia Snook, observed their 50th wedding anniversary November 2, 1996. Robert was a journeyman brick mason for nearly 50 years, he retired in 1987. He was a member of Bricklayers Union Local 19. A Navy veteran, he served in the south Pacific during World War II.
He was born March 23, 1927, he was a son of E. Rantz and Erma A. Sholder Pryor.
Surviving besides his wife, and his mother of Casselberry, FL, are a son, Robert K. of Jersey Shore; a daughter, Constance E. Edwards of Martinez, GA, a brother, James L. of Cogan Station; three sisters, Cecelia Mundell of Jersey Shore, Kathleen Ward and Janet Pryor, both of Casselberry; four grand-children, Brad and Wade, both of Jersey Shore; Virginia and Andrea Edwards, both of Martinez, GA.
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Robert's last known residence was Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia.1
