Ezra Jeffords was born on 1 June 1805 at Washington County, Ohio.¹ He was the son of John Jeffords and Phoebe Sherman.¹ Ezra Jeffords first married, at age 19, Elizabeth VanBibber, daughter of Jacob VanBibber and Sarah Miller, on Friday, 27 August 1824 at Lawrence County, Ohio.¹ Ezra Jeffords married a second time, at age 44, Anna Pray on Monday, 15 April 1850 at Scioto County, Ohio.¹ Ezra Jeffords died on 29 December 1871 at Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, at age 66 years, 6 months and 28 days.¹
He became a widower at the age of 44 with the death of Elizabeth on 20 September 1849.^2,1
