Clark Tillis was born on 20 July 1839 at Mason County, Virginia. He was the son of Richard Tillis and Elizabeth Greenlee VanBibber. Clark Tillis married Eleanor Ellen Ponstler circa 1860. Clark Tillis died on 14 October 1911 at Deerfield Township, Ross County, Ohio, at age 72 years, 2 months and 24 days.
