     John Harmon was born on 10 November 1848 at Missouri. He was the son of George E. Harmon and Martha Jones. John Harmon married, at age 17, Sarah Frances VanBebber, daughter of William VanBebber and Elizabeth Barbee, on Sunday, 15 April 1866 at Ray County, Missouri. John Harmon died on 17 October 1911 at age 62 years, 11 months and 7 days.
