George Harry Kinley Jr. was born on 1 March 1933 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Harry Kinley and Nina R. Wagman. George Harry Kinley Jr. married Dorothy Wright, daughter of Torence Chester Wright and Edna Mae Clark, circa 1954. George Harry Kinley Jr. died on 25 February 2005 at age 71 years, 11 months and 24 days.
His obituary was published on 26 February 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
George H. Kinley Jr., 71, of 1135 St. Michael’s Road, Cogan Station, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at his home following a lengthy illness.
George’s first wife, the former Dorothy E. Wright, died Aug. 5, 1965. He and his second wife, the former Donna Karicher, celebrated their 38th anniversary on June 25, 2004.
George retired in 1991 after 40 years with Textron Lycoming and was an Army veteran of the Korean War, where he received a letter of commendation for his instruction while attached to the Turkish Liaison Detachment with the Army instruction group. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 5859, Jersey Shore, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and arts and crafts.
Born March 1, 1933, in Jersey Shore, he was the son of George H. Sr. and Nina R. Wagman Kinley.
Surviving besides his wife are his sons, John R. (Laura) of Huntington, W.Va., and Kenneth J. (Joy) of Cogan Station; a daughter, Karen Ann at home; a brother, Fred of Jersey Shore; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wright of Middleburg; and grandchildren, Emanuel, Shawana, James, Jordan, Caroline, Hailey and George.
George was predeceased by a twin sister, Georgene, and a brother, James.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Rev. John F. Rauhut officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
