     George Woodrow Updegraff was born on 13 December 1913 at Latexo, Houston County, Texas.1,2 He was the son of Clarence Ezra Updegraff and Blanche F. Leedy.2 George Woodrow Updegraff married, at age 23, Alice S. Sweigart, age 20, daughter of Samuel Sweigart and Ruth E. Beach, on Monday, 22 March 1937. George Woodrow Updegraff died on 5 February 1976 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 62 years, 1 month and 23 days.1,2 He was buried in the Saint Michael's Lutheran Church Cemetery, located in Quiggleville, Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     He and Alice S. Sweigart were owned Updegraff's Food Market.
