     Caroline Josephine Durrwachter was born on 28 October 1897 at Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 She was the daughter of Johann Gottlieb Durrwachter and Maria Kapfenstein. Caroline Josephine Durrwachter first married, at age 20, John Franklin Beach, age 28, son of Daniel Beach and Mary Amanda Fischer, on Tuesday, 16 July 1918. Caroline Josephine Durrwachter married a second time, at age 47, Alfred C. Paulhamus, age 56, son of Levi M. Paulhamus and Clarissa L. King, on Monday, 12 March 1945 at 316 Louisa Street, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend N. L. Hummel.3,1 Caroline Josephine Durrwachter died on 27 May 1972 at age 74 years, 6 months and 29 days.2 She was buried in the Stoltz Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     Caroline Josephine Durrwachter also went by the name of Carrie.1 She was widowed at age 45 by the death of John on 21 July 1943. She was widowed at age 72 by the death of Alfred on 8 February 1970.1,4
