Alvin Elias Updegraff was born on 21 July 1912 at Newberry Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Robert Lee Updegraff and Elizabeth Virginia Fisher.1 Alvin Elias Updegraff married, at age 18, Loverna G. Shank, age 16, daughter of Harvey M. Shank and Frances S. [—?—], on Sunday, 5 April 1931 at Mount Wolf, York County, Pennsylvania.1 Alvin Elias Updegraff died in February 1980 at age 67 years and 6 months.2
