Nancy C. Mattern was born on 2 December 1932 at Watsontown, Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.2 She married, at age 19, Clifton L. Cohick, age 19, son of Lloyd Montgomery Cohick and Sarah Emma Confair, on Saturday, 22 December 1951.1 Nancy C. Mattern died on 16 January 2008 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 75 years, 1 month and 14 days.2
Her obituary was published on 18 January 2008 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Nancy C. Cohick, 75, of 287 Cohick Lane, Jersey Shore, died Thursday, January 16, 2008, at the Williamsport Hospital after becoming suddenly ill at her home.
Her husband of 50 years, Clifton L. Cohick, died on Sept. 10, 2002.
Nancy enjoyed cooking and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Born December 2, 1932, in Watsontown, she was the daughter of Leon J. and Edna E. Peterson Mattern.
Surviving are sons, Wayne (Rose), Roger (Penny), and Richard (Denise) all of Jersey Shore; daughters, Sherry Spong and her companion Robert Fryer of Linden, Linda (Richard) Hughes of Jersey Shore and Cindy (Jack) Long of Trout Run; brothers, Jerry Mattern of Camp Hill and Lawrence Mattern of Milton; sisters, Shirley Heiges in North Carolina, Romaine Taylor in Florida and Mary Bastian, also in North Carolina; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers, James and Leon Jr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Pastor Ron Savits officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodward Township Cemetery.2
