John Ulmer was born on 18 November 1810 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Leonard Ulmer Jr. and Mary Stumpf. John Ulmer first married Katherina Wurster, daughter of Johann George Wurster and Barbara Dolker, circa 1850. John Ulmer married a second time Catharina B. Marquardt, daughter of Stephen Nickolas Marquardt and Rachel Kiess, circa 1871.2 John Ulmer died on 27 October 1875 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 64 years, 11 months and 9 days.1 He was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
