     John Mitchell Alexander was born on 15 November 1883 at Speedwell, Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the son of David Brawley Alexander and Barbara Cawood. John Mitchell Alexander married Nora Ausmus in 1908. John Mitchell Alexander married Cora Bell Rogers circa 1922. John Mitchell Alexander died on 15 April 1962 at La Follette, Campbell County, Tennessee, at age 78 years and 5 months.
     He became a widower at the age of 36 with the death of Nora on 6 July 1920.
