Joseph Campbell was born on 30 June 1834 at Missouri. He was the son of Jeremiah Campbell and Elizabeth Vanderpool. Joseph Campbell married, at age 31, Julia Ann VanBebber, age 19, daughter of William VanBebber and Elizabeth Barbee, on Saturday, 24 February 1866 at Ray County, Missouri.1 Joseph Campbell died on 18 December 1927 at Missouri at age 93 years, 5 months and 18 days.
