Clyde Columbus VanBibber

     Clyde Columbus VanBibber was born on 23 January 1931 at Greenup County, Kentucky. He was the son of Maurice Hill VanBibber and Carrie Belle Fields. Clyde Columbus VanBibber first married Angela Lewis circa 1950. Clyde Columbus VanBibber married a second time, at age 34, Hazel Darnell on Tuesday, 23 February 1965. Clyde Columbus VanBibber died on 27 August 2006 at age 75 years, 7 months and 4 days.
     He became a widower at the age of 32 with the death of Angela on 28 December 1963. His obituary was published on 29 August 2006 in the The Daily Independent, printed in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky. His obituary stated:

     Clyde C. VanBibber, 75, of Brushy Road, Greenup, Ky., went to be with his Lord on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at his residence.

     He was born in Greenup County, Ky., Jan. 23, 1931, a son of Carrie Fields VanBibber of Lynn, Ky., and the late Maurice H. VanBibber.

     He was a retired carman for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, was a member of the Load Christian Baptist Church of Load, Ky., and a 50-year member of Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge 937 of South Shore, Ky.

     Surviving are his wife, Hazel Darnell VanBibber, whom he married on Feb. 23, 1965; two sons, Clyde Steven VanBibber of Greenup and David Quillen of Greenup; two daughters, Sharon Sue Hall of Greenup and Beth Anne Carman of Grove City, Ohio; two brothers, L.M. VanBibber of Lynn, Ky., and Fred VanBibber of South Shore, Ky; two sisters, Wilma Brown of Marysville, Ohio, and Joyce Ann VanBibber of Hillsboro, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

     Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Angela Lewis VanBibber, on Dec. 29, 1963.

     Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore by the Rev. Leonard McGlone. Burial will be in Brickunion Cemetery in Greenup.

     Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

     Masonic services by Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge 937 will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, Ky., or Load Christian Baptist Church, Ky. 7, Load, KY 41144.
