     Robert Updegrove was born on 5 February 1919 at Van Wert, Van Wert County, Ohio.1 He was the son of Shelby Glenn Updegrove and Minnie Mae Smith.2 Robert Updegrove married, at age 27, Thelma F. Winters, daughter of Elmer A. Winters and Bertha L. Harrison, on Saturday, 20 July 1946 at Van Wert, Van Wert County, Ohio.2 Robert Updegrove died on 5 October 1975 at Van Wert, Van Wert County, Ohio, at age 56 years and 8 months.1 He was buried in the Woodland Cemetery, located in Van Wert, Van Wert County, Ohio.2
