     Joseph Coudon III was born on 5 January 1823 at Woodlands, Cecil County, Maryland.1 He was the son of Joseph Coudon II and Ann Stump.1 Joseph Coudon III married, at age 31, Caroline Whitaker, age 20, daughter of George Price Whitaker and Eliza Ann Simmons, on Saturday, 15 April 1854 at Principio Furnace, Cecil County, Maryland.1 Joseph Coudon III died on 12 May 1880 at Woodlands, Cecil County, Maryland, at age 57 years, 4 months and 7 days.1 He was buried in the Saint Mary Ann's Episcopal Cemetery, located in North East, Cecil County, Maryland.1
     He was employed by the Whitaker Iron Company in 1870.1
