Aldas LaRue Carpenter1

     Aldas LaRue Carpenter was born on 26 March 1916 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of William Stewart Carpenter and Florence Bertha Waltz.1 Aldas LaRue Carpenter first married Elizabeth Mann in 1943.2 Aldas LaRue Carpenter married a second time June [—?—] circa 1947. Aldas LaRue Carpenter married a third time, at age 51, Helen M. Doebler, daughter of Foster James Doebler and Elva S. Furman, on Friday, 23 June 1967.1 Aldas LaRue Carpenter died on 11 August 2000 at Manor Care Health Center, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years, 4 months and 16 days.1 He was buried on 14 August 2000 in the Woodward Township Cemetery, located in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Judith P. Hulslander.1
     Aldas LaRue Carpenter also went by the name of Pete.1 He appeared on the census of 24 March 1920 in the household of William Stewart Carpenter and Florence Bertha Waltz at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary was published on 12 August 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Aldas L. "Pete" Carpenter Sr., 84, of 6200 S. Route 220 Highway, Linden, died Friday, Aug 11, 2000, at Manor Care Health Services. He and his wife, the former Helen Doebler, observed their 33rd wedding anniversary June 23. He was an inspector for Textron Lycoming for 28 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of Woodward Township Fire Co. He enjoyed farming.

     Born March 26, 1916, in Linden, he was a son of William and Florence Waltz Carpenter. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Patricia Lehman of Oriole and Pamela Meixel; two sons, Aldas Jr. of Rauchtown and Franklin of Jersey Shore; two sisters, Ruth Smith and Bertha Palmeter, both of Linden; a brother, William F. of Linden; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John; and two sisters, Marintha Wagner and Ethel Knauss.

     The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sander s, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Judi Hulslander, of Pine Run United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodward Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.1
