Charles Frederick Paulhamus was born on 20 April 1918 at Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,4,1 He was the son of Ezra Cleveland Paulhamus and Mable Catherine Wurster.1,2 Charles Frederick Paulhamus first married, at age 21, Sylvia Mae Kiess, age 21, daughter of Reuben Kiess and Emily Estella Cline, on Monday, 1 January 1940 at home of Reuben Kiess, Salladasburg RD, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Benjamin Griffin Hoffman.3,4,1 Charles Frederick Paulhamus married a second time, at age 73, Margaret Mamie DeRemer, daughter of Oran Charles DeRemer and Mamie Agnes Bolich, on Friday, 14 February 1992 at Saint John's Chapel United Methodist Church, Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Charles Frederick Paulhamus died on 1 March 2006 at Manor Care Health Center, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 87 years, 10 months and 9 days.1
His obituary was published on 3 March 2006 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Charles F. Paulhamus, 87, of 1324 Walnut Street, Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Manor Care, Jersey Shore.
Charles was a farmer and the founder of Paulhamus Sawmill. He was a member of St. John’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a former Sunday School superintendent for many years, District 11 Sunday School Assoc., Pine Run Grange #2005 and the Salladasburg Senior Citizens. He was a former Jersey Shore School Board member, a lifetime member of Poor Shot Hunting Club and an avid fisherman.

Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Margaret DeRemer Guinter, a son Frederick C. and a daughter, Irene S. (Larry) Bower, both of Linden; step sons, Harold (Mary R.) Guinter and Oran (Marianne) Guinter, both of Jersey Shore; step daughters, Sharon (Gilbert) Knarr of Anacoco, La., Laura Ortega of West Valley, N.Y. and Mary L. Guinter of South Williamsport; a brother, Elmer (Pete) of Cogan House; sisters, Bertha Edwards of Cogan Station and Lois (Rev. Charles) Ulmer of Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Charles was predeceased by his first wife, the former Sylvia M. Kiess in 1989 and brothers Floyd and Dale.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Rev. Philip D. Meanor and Rev. Dale L. Russell officiating. Burial will be in Woodward Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests donations to his church, 25 Scenic View Drive, Linden, PA 17744 or Larryville United Methodist Church, 366 Main Street, Salladasburg, PA 17740.1
