Ellis Updegrove

M, (19 February 1792 - 9 October 1857)
     Ellis Updegrove was born on 19 February 1792.1 He was the son of Isaac Updegrove and Elinor Ellis.2 Ellis Updegrove married Margaret A. Funk circa 1816. Ellis Updegrove died on 9 October 1857 at age 65 years, 7 months and 20 days.1 He was buried in the Harrisburg Cemetery, located in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Ellis was originally buried in the Coxestown Cemetery, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, his remains were moved from this old Presbyterian Cemetery which no longer exists, to the current Harrisburg Cemetery.1
     From the Pennsylvania Archives; Volume 8, page 909: Ellis Updegraff of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania - Muster Roll - Infantry Commanded by Captain Thomas Walker, 1st Regiment, 1st Brigade of the Pennsylvania Militia inder the command of Col. Maxwell Kenny at York, Pennsylvania 5 September 1814. He was a lumber merchant in 1846. 1850 Census - Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania - Ellis Updegrove 60-Male, PA, Lumber Merchant, Margaret Funk 30-Female, PA and Emma Funk 7-Female, PA.
