Evelyn Regina Paulhamus was born on 18 September 1913 at Cogan Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Orin William Paulhamus and Mabel Vida Edler.1 Evelyn Regina Paulhamus was baptized, at age 3 years and 2 months, on Saturday, 18 November 1916 at Quiggleville United Methodist Church, Quiggleville, Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She married, at age 23, Howell LaRue Waltz, age 23, son of Charles Wesley Waltz and Elma Pearl Bower, on Thursday, 10 June 1937.1,2,3 Evelyn Regina Paulhamus died on 3 October 2007 at age 94 years and 15 days.1
She was widowed at age 58 by the death of Howell on 25 December 1971.1 Her obituary was published on 5 October 2007 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Evelyn R. Waltz, 94, of 4883 Queneshaque Road, Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007. at her home.
Her husband, Howell L. Waltz, died on Dec. 25, 1971.
Evelyn was a lifetime member of State Road United Methodist Church and a former member of the Salladasburg Senior Citizens.
She worked with her husband on the family farm until his death. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking.
Born Sept. 18, 1913 in Cogan Station, she was the daughter of Orin W. and Mabel Edler Paulhamus.
Surviving are a son, Marvin L. (Kathryn) of Jersey Shore; daughter, Ann W. Thomas of Jersey Shore; sister, Arlene (Robert) Roan of Linden; grandchildren, Loren Waltz and Brian (Rebekah) Waltz, Susan (Steven) Sechrist and Greg Thomas; five great grandchildren.
Evelyn was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Paulhamus and a sister, Myrtle Paulhamus.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 6738 Daugherty’s Run Road, with the Rev. Mark R. Messner officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the church memorial fund, c/o Robert Burket, 6336 Daugherty’s Run Road, Linden, PA 17744. Knight-Confer Funeral Home, Inc.1
