Stanley Augustus Bruce was born on 10 September 1928 at Fort Fairfield, Aroostook County, Maine.2,3 He was the son of Charles Francis Bruce and Evalena Stanley.1,2,3 Stanley Augustus Bruce married, at age 29, Josephine Woolman Stifler, daughter of Francis McIlhenny Stifler and Elizabeth Blount Henson, on Saturday, 23 November 1957 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.1 Stanley Augustus Bruce died on 12 June 1978 at Medway, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, at age 49 years, 9 months and 2 days.1,2,3 He was buried in June 1978 in the Riverside Cemetery, located in Fort Fairfield, Aroostook County, Maine.3

He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Submarine Service of the US Navy.
He is survived by his mother of Fort Fairfield, a son, Christopher Bruce, two daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Bruce, all of Medway, MA., two sisters, Mrs. John (Margaret) Perks Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. John (Christine) Lyon of Wellesley Hills, MA., two brothers, Alton of Presque Isle and Charles Jr. of Fort Fairfield, several nieces and nephews.
