Francis McIlhenny Stifler1

     Francis McIlhenny Stifler was born on 11 March 1903 at Roselle, Union County, New Jersey.1 He was the son of James Madison Stifler and Lucy Hannah Burnley.1 Francis McIlhenny Stifler married, at age 27, Elizabeth Blount Henson, age 23, daughter of Edward Tourton Henson and Elizabeth Meacham Blount, on Saturday, 28 June 1930 at La Grange, Cook County, Illinois.1 Francis McIlhenny Stifler died in August 1983 at age 80 years and 4 months.1
     He graduated in 1925 from Haverford College, located in Haverford, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His career began as a saleman in a real estate brokers office in Philidelphia. Later as an editor, advertising manager and publicity director for weekly newspapers published out of Ardmore, Pennsylvania as well as for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club. He was also a newpaper correspondant with articles published in many eastern seaboard daily newspaper and was on staff of many papers published in Philadelphia. Since 1935 he was the manager for Phipps Pennsylvania Land Trust with offices in Pittsburgh. Circa 1960, Francis McIlhenny Stifler and Elizabeth Blount Henson lived at 119 Walnut Street, Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Francis McIlhenny Stifler was an advertising executive in 1962.1
