     Lawshe C. Smith was born on 24 January 1889.1,2 He was the son of John Couden Smith and Margaret A. Shook. Lawshe C. Smith married, at age 20, Ruth Wurster, age 18, daughter of Solomon Wurster and Rebecca Kiess, on Tuesday, 2 November 1909.1 Lawshe C. Smith died on 1 November 1966 at age 77 years, 9 months and 8 days.2
