David William Stolz1

M, (15 April 1837 - 9 February 1901)
     David William Stolz was born on 15 April 1837 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of George Stolz and Maria Aderhold.1 David William Stolz married Emma Stead circa 1859. David William Stolz died on 9 February 1901 at Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 63 years, 9 months and 25 days. He was buried in the Muncy Cemetery, located in Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     He was a farmer, miller and grocer.1

In 1892 the "History of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania" was published, in which we find David's biography that was submitted to the book's John F. Meginness. On page 945, preserved for future generations we find the following:

     David Stolz, grocer, was born April 15, 1837, in Lycoming County, son of George and Mary (Aderhold) Stolz. He was educated in the common schools of Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, and was brought up at farm labor, and learned the trade of a miller. In 1856 he was employed in his father's mill, where he remained one and a half years. In the spring of 1858 he became a clerk in his father's grocery in Muncy, where he has ever since remained, becoming the owner of the same in April 1888. The family attend the Lutheran Church. Mr. Stolz is a Republican, and during the war went out in the Emergency Company K, Fourteenth Reserve, Pennsylvania Volunteer Militia. He has served in the borough council and as school director, and is one of the executors of his father's estate.1
