     Luella E. Bassett was born on 20 March 1923 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,3 She was the daughter of William Bassett and Lulu Jones.4 Luella E. Bassett married, at age 16, Charles Alvin Ulmer, age 23, son of Harry Edward Ulmer and Sarah Alice Hart, on Saturday, 16 March 1940.5 Luella E. Bassett died on 31 January 2002 at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 78 years, 10 months and 11 days.2,6
     Her obituary was published on 2 February 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Luella E. Ulmer, 78, of 1460 Route 654 Highway, Williamsport, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Valley View Nursing Center. She was the widow of Charles A. Ulmer, Sr., who died Feb. 2, 1994.

Born March 20, 1923, in Williamsport, Luella was a daughter of William and Lulu Jones Bassett. She was a member of Garden View Church of Christ.

Surviving are a son, Charles A. Ulmer, Jr., of city; a daughter, Judith A. White of Montoursville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings.

The funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorials be made to the building fund of her church, 1941 Princeton Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.7
