Harry William Pepperman was born on 3 September 1925.1 He was the son of William Harry Pepperman and Edna Confair. Harry William Pepperman married Ora Rosetta Stroup, daughter of Torrence P. Stroup and Elizabeth Ann Miller, circa 1945 at East End Baptist Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Henry C. Wray.1,2,3 Harry William Pepperman died on 17 April 2009 at age 83 years, 7 months and 14 days.
As of 1969, Harry William Pepperman and Ora Rosetta Stroup lived at 2208 Linn Street, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The anniversary announcement for Harry William Pepperman and Ora Rosetta Stroup was published sometime in 1970 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The Peppermans have four daughters and one son: Mrs. John Young, Linden; Mrs. Dale Williams, of this city; Connie, Kathy and Billy, all at home. Harry William Pepperman, 83, of Woodland passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Dubois Regional Medical Center West.
Born Sept. 3, 1925 in Williamsport, Pa., he was the adopted son of William and Edna Pepperman. He had worked for the PA Railroad and for AVCO/Textron in Lycoming, PA. He was a member of the Mason's Noble Lodge in Williamsport where he joined in 1973, and a member of the Odd Fellows since 1943.
On Dec. 16, 1989 in Quiggleville, Pa., he wed his current wife Geraldine Gill, who survives, along with five children Carol Young and her husband John Jr. of Linden, Pa., Connie Lippold and her husband Jerry of Texas, Donna Saar of Nisbet, Pa., Kathy Rhyne and her husband George of Harrisburg, Pa. and William H. Pepperman and his wife Cindy of Linden, Pa., three step children Marty Shields of Ohio, Amy Wood of Boyertown, Pa., and Wendy Hand and her husband Dave of Mineral Springs, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren six great great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one step great grandson, three brothers and sisters Beverly Stever of Florida, Joyce Miller of Montoursville, Pa., and John Shaffer of Sunbury, Pa., three step brothers and sisters Viola Bowden of N.C., Maxine Allen of Trout Run, Pa, and Henry Pepperman of Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ora Rosetta Stroup Pepperman, a brother, Homer Barrett, and a sister, Lois Weigle, step brothers Max and Carl Pepperman.
Funeral Services for Harry Pepperman will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Clearfield on Wednesday April 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Karen Allen officiating.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. till the time of services at 1 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Clearfield Chapter, 26 S. Second St. Clearfield, PA 16830.
