Ruth A. Weitzel was born on 10 March 1922 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Richard A. Weitzel and Eva Roller. Ruth A. Weitzel married, at age 16, Chester Swatsworth on Thursday, 9 June 1938. Ruth A. Weitzel married, at age 45, Glenn M. Beach on Saturday, 20 May 1967. Ruth A. Weitzel died on 19 May 2002 at age 80 years, 2 months and 9 days. She was buried on 22 May 2002 in the Stoltz Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
Her obituary was published on 21 May 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Ruth A. Beach, 80, of 85 Dunkleberger Road, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, after a lengthy illness. She and her husband, Glenn M., would have observed their 35th wedding anniversary yesterday, May 20.
She retired in 1983 from Litton Industries after 25 years of service. She was a member of Maple Springs U.M. Church, Lycova Grange 2006, an associate member of the Wheel Inn, a 1940 graduate of Williamsport High School, enjoyed fishing, going to yard sales, playing cards and spending time on Seneca Lake.
Born March 10, 1922, in Old Lycoming Twp., a daughter of Richard and Eva Roller Weitzel.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Doris Egli, Cogan Station; stepson Galen Beach, city; stepdaughters, Sharon Marie Wendt, Lynchburg, VA and Lisa Johnston, Montoursville; a brother, Lloyd Weitzel, city; sisters Grace Getchen, city and Helen Campbell, Salladasburg; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Bates.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Rev. Dr. Wayne L. Hepler officiating. Burial in Stoltz Cemetery. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.1
