Samuel S. Kiess was born on 24 December 1845 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of Emanuel Kiess and Charlotte Sigmund. Samuel S. Kiess married Angeline Ann Winner, daughter of Enoch Winner and Mary Winner Collins, circa 1873.1 Samuel S. Kiess died in May 1921 at Hughesville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 75 years and 4 months.
