Glenn W. Ulmer was born on 6 December 1919.2,3,4 He was the son of Watson J. Ulmer and Mary A. Getz.1 Glenn W. Ulmer married, at age 20, Mary Josephine Stroup, age 20, daughter of James L. Stroup and Irene J. Heichel, on Friday, 30 August 1940 at Anthony Baptist Church, Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Clyde Everett Weigle.2,3,4 Glenn W. Ulmer died on 11 April 2005 at age 85 years, 4 months and 5 days.4 He was buried in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4
His obituary was published on 13 April 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Glenn W. Ulmer, 85, formerly of the 2500 block of W. Fourth St., died Monday, April 11, 2005, at the ManorCare North.
Glenn and his wife, the former Mary J. (Jo) Stroup, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last Aug. 30.
Glenn was a self-employed dairy farmer, then sold men’s clothing at the former Britt’s, David’s and Mr. B’s. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking.
Born Dec. 6, 1919, in Linden, he was the son of Watson and Mary Getz Ulmer.
Surviving besides his wife are brothers, Leon of Linden and Carl of Jersey Shore; sisters, Kathryn Ulmer and Clara Hauser, both of Towanda; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the ManorCare North second floor lounge, 300 Leader Drive, with Rev. Kraig L. Faust officiating. Burial in Wildwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.4
