     Frederick Shafer Kiess was born on 2 August 1894 at Pleasant Valley, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Charles Franklin Kiess and Salome Anne Shafer. Frederick Shafer Kiess married, at age 27, Laura Alice Weaver, age 19 on Saturday, 25 March 1922.1 Frederick Shafer Kiess died on 12 December 1969 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 75 years, 4 months and 10 days.1,2 He was buried in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     He and Laura Alice Weaver had no children.
