Hans Jerg Kiess was born in September 1692 at Möhringen, Oberamt Stuttgart, Neckarkreis, Württemberg. He was the son of Hans Jerg Kiess and Sara Elsaesser. Hans Jerg Kiess married Anna Marie Wolff, daughter of Hans Jacob Wolff and Maria Neuffer, before 1714. Hans Jerg Kiess died on 22 June 1721 at age 28 years and 9 months.
The following information was secured from Emma Kiess of Muncy who got it first hand from a German Lutheran Church in Wuerttemberg, Germany. The name Kiess is a direct descendent of King Saul of the Bible whose name was Kiesh which was later changed to Kiess. This is from a German minister who put the seal of the Church to it and signed his name thereto.
