John Walters Friedline was born on 25 June 1917 at Sterling, Rice County, Kansas.2,1 He was the son of Earl Philip Friedline and Ruth Tabor Werner. John Walters Friedline married, at age 37, Mary Virginia Walker, age 33, daughter of Conley Lands Walker and Minnie Lee Towns, on Saturday, 9 April 1955 at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.2 John Walters Friedline died on 1 October 2003 at age 86 years, 3 months and 6 days.1
He was a mechanical engineer in 1960. His obituary was published on 2 October 2003 in the The Times, printed in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. His obituary stated:
SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. John W. Friedline, age 86, died October 1, 2003 after a brief illness. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Blanchard, LA. There will be no visitation or service here. Burial will be in Asheville, NC.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia. He is survived by a sister, Lois Hitt and husband, John five nephews and two nieces.

John W. Friedline, 86, of Shreveport, La., and formerly of 46 Westwood Place, Asheville, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003.
Private entombment will be held at a later date at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.4 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index John's last known residence was Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.1
