James Monroe Morrison was born on 30 October 1835 at Somerset County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of James Morrison and Mary Ann Pannell.1 James Monroe Morrison first married, at age 28, Edith Mason, age 20, daughter of [—?—] Mason, on Tuesday, 28 June 1864.1 James Monroe Morrison married a second time Louise M. Mason, daughter of [—?—] Mason, circa 1874.1 James Monroe Morrison died on 25 October 1922 at age 86 years, 11 months and 25 days.1 He was buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.1
He became a widower at the age of 36 with the death of Edith on 26 September 1872.1 James Monroe Morrison and Louise M. Mason appeared on the census of 15 June 1880 at Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. James Monroe Morrison appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the household of James Monroe Morrison at Chicago, 3rd Ward, Cook County, Illinois.
