Lee Shorter was born in 1892 at Oklahoma Territory, USA. He was the son of Andrew Shorter and Alice Stratton.1 Lee Shorter married Mate Eleanor Updegraff, age 21, daughter of Alpha Gordon Updegraff and Effie Moore, on Monday, 22 July 1918 at Medicine Lodge, Barber County, Kansas.1
Lee Shorter was in the Army during WWI in 1917.1 He and Mate Eleanor Updegraff appeared on the census of 30 January 1920 at McKinley Township, Garfield County, Oklahoma. Lee Shorter appeared on the census of 8 April 1930 at McKinley Township, Garfield County, Oklahoma. He was a farmer in 1937.1
