George Otwell Pence was born on 2 April 1865 at Butler, Montgomery County, Illinois.1 He was the son of William N. Pence and Mary Jane Warren. George Otwell Pence married, at age 23, Nancy Ann Sims, age 26, daughter of James Hendrick Sims and Mary Elizabeth Winn, on Sunday, 26 August 1888 at Yellville, Marion County, Arkansas.1 George Otwell Pence died on 1 July 1916 at Woodward County, Oklahoma, at age 51 years, 2 months and 29 days.1 He was buried in the Fort Supply Cemetery, located in Fort Supply, Woodward County, Oklahoma.1
He waas a member of the local Methodist Church in 1915.
