     William Thomas Baker was born on 18 February at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of William D. Baker and Rebecca Encie Updegraff.1 William Thomas Baker married Margaret Leonard, daughter of Charles Augustus Leonard and Elena M. [—?—], on Saturday, 21 November 1942 at Norfolk, Norfolk County, Virginia.1
     William was a Lt. USGGR from 1942 through 1945, during WWII. He received his B.A. from Colgate University, then became Director of Development for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.1
