     Samuel Edgar Updegraff Jr. was born on 30 January 1891 at Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana.1 He was the son of Samuel Edgar Updegraff and Jeffersonia Belle Hauser. Samuel Edgar Updegraff Jr. married, at age 31, Dorothy Lockwood Pattison, age 26, daughter of Willis Webb Pattison and Florence Lockwood, on Monday, 15 January 1923 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.1 Samuel Edgar Updegraff Jr. died on 9 January 1955 at Culver City, Los Angeles County, California, at age 63 years, 11 months and 10 days.1
