     Mary A. Hartman was born in 1821 at Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Sampson Hartman and Mary A. Omert. Mary A. Hartman first married James Cooper, age 24, son of James Cooper and Rebecca Updegraff, on Sunday, 11 March 1855 at Hendricks Township, Shelby County, Indiana.2 Mary A. Hartman married a second time William Kendall circa 1870.
