Hazel Reeser was born on 12 June 1914.1 She was the daughter of Ezra J. Reeser and Tracey E. Kiess. Hazel Reeser married Stanley Schuyler in 1944. Hazel Reeser died on 10 February 2003 at age 88 years, 7 months and 29 days.1
Her obituary was published on 11 February 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Hazel R. Schuyler, 88, of Country Line Road, Turbotville, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, where she had been a resident the past few months.
A native of Salladasburg, Lycoming County, she was born June 12, 1914, to Ezra J. and Tracey E. (Kiess) Reeser in Anthony Twp. She was married in St. John’s Chapel to Stanley T. Schuyler. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1979, following 35 years of marriage.
Mrs. Schuyler retired from Muncy Valley Hospital in 1984, where she had worked for 17 years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville, where she served as a deacon, former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Women’s Guild. She was a member of Danville Christian Women’s Organization, the Limestone Twp. Homemakers, and the Rambler’s Club. She was on the board of directors of the St. John’s Chapel Cemetery Association, Salladasburg.
She enjoyed crafts and gardening.
Surviving are a son and his fiancee, Glenn F. Schuyler and Sandra Rhoades of Danville; three daughters, Shirley S. (Robert J.) Yost and Sandie Schuyler, both of Turbotville and Linda S. (Philip) Horning of Nevada City, Calif; three grandchildren, Christopher Yost of Great Falls, Va., Aimee Hormell of Sterling, Va. and Neil Horning of Berkeley, Calif; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Leonard and James D. Reeser and a sister, Esther M. Hensler.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville, with the Rev. Michael E. Watson, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery. Friends may call at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, at the church, from 10 to 11 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to her church at P.O. Box 270, Turbotville, PA 17772.2
