Charles Dale Updegraff was born on 9 March 1915 at Fairpoint, Belmont County, Ohio.1 He was the son of George Washington Updegraff and Margaret Jane Dayton.2 Charles Dale Updegraff married, at age 45, Katherine E. Hokai, daughter of John Hokai and Antonia [—?—], on Monday, 13 June 1960 at Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland.2 Charles Dale Updegraff died on 4 March 2001 at age 85 years, 11 months and 23 days.1
He was in military service during World War II with the United States Army for 19 months. He was in seven major engagements in both Africa and Europe.2 He was a coal mine mechanic in 1970.2 As of 1988, Charles Dale Updegraff lived at RFD 3, Crows Lane, Wheeling, West Virginia.2 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Charles's last known residence was Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.1
