Kathy A. Messner was born on 11 April 1983 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of James Allen Messner and Patricia Kurtz.1,2 Kathy A. Messner died on 9 June 2006 at age 23 years, 1 month and 29 days.2,3 She was buried on 13 June 2006 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Detlef Huckfeldt.2
Kathy A. Messner graduated in 2001 from Williamsport Area High School, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 Her obituary was published on 11 June 2006 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Kathy A. Messner, 23, of Cherry Street, Williamsport, died Friday, June 9, 2006 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Williamsport April 11, 1983, she is the daughter of James A. and Patricia M. Kurtz Messner, of Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station.
Kathy was greatly loved by family and friends. Her greatest pleasure was being with those she loved. We will miss her sparkling smile and infectious laugh.
She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Kathy was a graduate of Williamsport High School, Class of 2001 and of Mount Nittany Institute, State College. She was employed in the dietary department of the Williamsport Home and also worked part-time at the Trail Inn. She enjoyed being around people and playing softball.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are her maternal grandmother, Hazel Kurtz and her paternal grandfather, Frederick A. Messner, both of this city; her sister Carrie Hansen of Virginia Beach, Va., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1877 St. Michael's Road, Cogan Station with the Rev. Detlef Huckfeldt, her pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St.2
