John Wesley Updegraff was born on 27 November 1871.1 He was the son of Robert Updegraff and Abigail Ann Gadd.1 John Wesley Updegraff married Carrie Wagaman in November 1897.1 John Wesley Updegraff died on 26 July 1906 at West Newton, Marion County, Indiana, at age 34 years, 7 months and 29 days.1
He and Carrie Wagaman were dropped from the Fairfield Society of Friends on 16 June 1898.1 When John died, their six children were raised by John's bothers and sisters, it is not known what happened to Carrie after his death in 1906.1
