     Mahala Cox was born on 1 January 1827 at Virginia. She married, at age 25, James Madison DeHaven, age 27, son of Abraham DeHaven and Mary Ann Chitwood, on Wednesday, 15 December 1852. Mahala Cox died on 19 June 1912 at Scott County, Kentucky, at age 85 years, 5 months and 18 days.
