Clarice Cohick

Clarice Cohick was born on 14 September 1909 at Salladasburg, Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of William Bennett Cohick and Catherine Elvira Eckert. Clarice Cohick married, at age 23, William H. Kiess Jr., age 26, son of William Kiess and Blanch Snyder, on Sunday, 9 April 1933. Clarice Cohick died on 14 October 2002 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 93 years and 1 month.1 She was buried on 18 October 2002 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
Her obituary was published on 17 October 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Clarice C. Kiess, 93, of 1445 Lafayette Parkway, Williamsport, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 in Williamsport Hospital. Born Sept. 14, 1909 in Salladasburg, she was the daughter of William Bennett and Catherine Elvira Eckert Cohick.
Clarice retired from the former Franklin Elementary School, Williamsport, and previously was a teacher at one-room schools in Pine Run and Salladasburg. She was a member of Salladasburg United Methodist Church. She was a former Sunday School teacher at Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, Williamsport. She enjoyed nature, reading, taking family photos, piano, bird feeding and driving her SVX sports car.
She was the widow of William H. Kiess who died Jan. 22, 1963.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Crooks of Jersey Shore and Betty Lou (Herman) Watts of Queneshukney Road; two granddaughters, Misty Loraine (Todd) Wool and Shelly Lynn (Jason) Route; and six great-grandchildren, Skyler, Logan and Ashlyn Wool, and Selena, Brody and Jasmyn Route. She was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.
There will be a private family service Friday at Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville, with the Rev. John P. Welshans of Haneyville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. There will be no visitation.2
