Lee E. Myers was born on 4 December 1921 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Royal Bussler Myers and Pearl Bertha Waltz. Lee E. Myers married Lena Weigle, daughter of William H. Weigle and Anna M. Deitrick, circa 1941.1 Lee E. Myers died on 6 October 2008 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years, 10 months and 2 days.
His obituary was published on 9 October 2008 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Lee E. Myers, 86, of 2623 Grand St., passed away, Monday, October 6, 2008 at Rose View Center, where he had resided for the past two weeks.
Lee and his wife, the former Lena L. Weigle, observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on December 14, 2007.
Lee was a Navy veteran of World War II serving with the Seabees for 1 1/2 years in the South Pacific as a petty officer. He also served with the 34th Spec. Battalion, 144th Advanced Base Construction Depot and the 56th Naval Construction Battalion.
Lee was a 1940 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School and retired from the former Ray-O-Vac plant, as the production superintendent, after 34 years of service.
After retirement, Lee could be found in his garage workshop, building furniture, caning chairs or fixing whatever was broken.
Born December 4, 1921 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Royal B. and B. Pearl Waltz Myers.
Surviving are his wife and caregiver, Lena; daughter, Diane (Richard) Kozen of Cogan Station; granddaughter, Amanda Kozen of York and a sister, Norma Lamey of Williamsport.
Lee was predeceased by an infant daughter and son; sisters, Letha Young, Lois Willits, Marion Younkin and Ruby Drick.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. John R. Shafer officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Private burial will be at Woodward Township Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110.2
