     John VanBibber was born on 12 March 1797 at Kanawha County, Virginia. He was the son of James VanBibber and Lois Reynolds. John VanBibber died on 22 February 1884 at Victory, Victory County, Texas, at age 86 years, 11 months and 10 days. He was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, located in Victory County, Texas.
     John Van Bibber served in the Texas War for Independence; escaped the Goliad Massacre, 1836.
