     James Clark McFarland was born on 1 October 1792 at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts.1 He married, at age 26, Alethea Reynolds, daughter of John Reynolds and Miriam VanBibber, on Thursday, 20 May 1819 at Kanawha County, Virginia.1 James Clark McFarland died on 9 November 1864 at Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia, at age 72 years, 1 month and 8 days.1
